Nancy O'Dell's initial position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. The work of O'Dell on the streets of Charleston on police leniency towards DUI cases has led to the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the incidents. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell an award for the Best Report of the year Award for all South Carolina media. O'Dell was a reporter and anchor for a time in Charleston reporting, was a co-anchor at NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving over to Access Hollywood where she is an anchor and reporter on weekends. Alongside her work as a lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and as well to Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. The host of The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
